# Verdict history

> Every change of verdict for a subcontractor, with the findings behind it, for the day someone asks whether they were covered.

When there is a claim or a dispute, the question is usually: *was this subcontractor compliant on the day, and why did we think so?* The **Verdict history** card on each vendor's page answers it.

## What it shows

**Verdict history** lists each change of verdict, newest first, with the findings that justified it at the time. Choose **Show older** for earlier entries.

A new entry is written when the verdict or its findings change: a certificate recorded, a template edited, a policy moving into the warning window or expiring. The text of a finding counts, so while a policy is expiring, the day count in "expires in *n* days" changes and each day gets its own entry. A check that changes nothing adds no entry; it simply confirms the latest one.

## The vendor's History card

Separately, the **History** card on the vendor's page shows who changed the record and when: the vendor added or edited, certificates recorded, documents received, downloaded or archived, upload links created, chases sent by hand, archiving and restoring.

## Across the organization

Owners and admins can see every change across the organization under **Activity**. See [Activity log](/docs/account/activity-log).

## Nothing is deleted

Superseded certificates, archived documents and archived vendors are kept, so the history stays complete. See [Archiving and restoring](/docs/subcontractors/archiving).
