A project is a job or site. Grouping subcontractors by project lets you filter the register to one job and share a report for that job alone, without sending anyone your whole register.

Create a project

Choose New project and enter:

A project needs a name and a code of its own.

The project list shows each project’s code, how many active subcontractors are on it, its status and dates. Search it by name, code or address. Select a project’s name to open the register filtered to that project.

Put subcontractors on a project

  • When adding or editing a subcontractor, select Projects this subcontractor works on. A subcontractor can be on several projects.
  • When importing, choose Assign to a project: every row in the file is put on that project.
A project with nobody on it yet opens on No subcontractors on this project yet, which gives these two ways and an Import a spreadsheet button. Filter the register by project with the project filter on Subcontractors.

Mark a project completed or archived

Choose Edit on a project and set Status:
  • Active: work in progress.
  • Completed: the job is finished. The project, its subcontractors and its shared reports stay as they are.
  • Archived: put away. It no longer counts towards your plan’s project limit. Its subcontractors stay in your register and its shared reports keep working.
Setting an archived project back to Active or Completed counts it towards your plan again, so it is refused if you are already at the limit. Every change of status is recorded under Activity, which owners and admins can see. A completed or archived project can still be chosen when you edit a subcontractor, import a spreadsheet or filter the register.

Plan limits

Starter includes 3 projects, Core 15, and Pro is unlimited. Active and completed projects count; archived ones do not.

Delete a project

Owners and admins can Delete a project. This removes the project, not the subcontractors on it: they stay in your register, unassigned, and the confirmation says how many. Any share link scoped to that project is removed with it and stops working. Deleting cannot be undone.
Projects do not carry their own insurance requirements. Requirements come from the template assigned to each subcontractor, whichever projects they are on.
